FAQ - Frequently asked questions and answers
Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about building with brick modules. Whether planning, production, delivery, or assembly—our FAQs give you a quick overview and help you understand your project even better.
How does building with brick modules work, and what advantages does it offer?
ZIEGELMODULE industrially prefabricated at the Leipfinger-Bader plant in Pfeffenhausen – including walls, technology, windows, and interior fittings. They are assembled and connected to each other on the construction site using a mobile crane, resulting in a solid, ready-to-move-in building within a few days. The modular design combines the speed of modular construction with the durability and lasting value of solid bricks. The result is short construction times, high energy efficiency, predictable costs, and quality that will last for decades.
How sustainable is building with brick modules?
ZIEGELMODULE mainly of natural raw materials and are fully recyclable. Controlled production in the factory, short construction times, and reusable transport materials significantly reduce the ecological footprint.
What types of buildings are ZIEGELMODULE suitable for ZIEGELMODULE e.g., residential buildings, schools, or offices?
Ziegelmodule versatile: from single-family homes and row houses to multi-story residential complexes, hotels, schools, and office buildings. The modular system can be flexibly adapted to any usage concept.
What technical standards do ZIEGELMODULE meet ZIEGELMODULE e.g., energy efficiency, sound insulation, fire protection)?
ZIEGELMODULE Leipfinger-Bader achieve energy efficiency class EH 40 (QNG) without additional external insulation. They meet the highest standards for sound insulation, fire protection, and living comfort—and are therefore eligible for subsidies under current KfW guidelines.
Can floor plans, dimensions, and the design of the ZIEGELMODULE be ZIEGELMODULE ?
Yes. Floor plans, room layouts, and equipment details are planned specifically for each project—within the limits of the modular system. The module dimensions are based on the position in the building and the wall thicknesses in interior and exterior areas. Facade design, roof shapes, and design can also be flexibly adapted to project requirements. This results in individual solutions with the precision and efficiency of the modular construction principle. You can find more information, floor plan examples, and planning details inthe ZIEGELMODULE online catalog.
How many stories can be built with brick modules?
Up to five full stories can be built with brick modules. A higher number of stories requires individual review.
What interior widths are available?
Due to transportation width restrictions, we have Ziegelmodule two optimal interior widths for our Ziegelmodule . For one- to two-story buildings, the clear interior width is 320 cm; for three- to five-story buildings, it is 307 cm. Deviations from these standard dimensions are generally possible and will be coordinated on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, larger interior widths can be achieved through wall openings and the combination of multiple modules. Further dimensions and technical details can be found in ZIEGELMODULE.
Is building with BRICK MODULES more expensive than conventional solid construction?
As a rule, the total costs are slightly lower than those of conventional construction—with a significantly shorter construction period. Costs vary depending on size, fittings, and number of modules, but remain predictable thanks to a high degree of prefabrication, precise calculations, and clear processes. Price and schedule reliability are integral parts of the Leipfinger-Bader concept.
How long does it take to plan and produce brick modules?
Depending on the size of the project and the equipment required, the entire planning and production phase usually takes only a few weeks. Thanks to the high degree of prefabrication of up to 95 percent, the construction process can be scheduled precisely.
How does the delivery and installation of the modules work?
The finished modules are professionally packaged and delivered by large-capacity transport. On site, a mobile crane lifts the modules into place so that several units can be assembled per day. Roof, facade, attached balconies, or pergolas are then completed according to customer requirements.
Can Ziegelmodule be expanded or modified Ziegelmodule ?
Yes. Thanks to the modular design, buildings can be flexibly expanded or restructured as needed. Additional modules can be easily added or existing units can be adapted.
Are there any references or model apartments?
Yes, there are fully furnished model apartments as well as reference projects. Inthe ZIEGELMODULE online catalog, you will find illustrative examples with floor plans, furnishing ideas, and technical details. Upon request, Leipfinger-Bader also presents real reference properties that can be viewed.
Which grant programs are ZIEGELMODULE for ZIEGELMODULE ?
Depending on the project size and intended use, you can take advantage of both national programs (e.g., KfW 296 / 297 / 298) and regional funding options in Bavaria or Baden-Württemberg, for example. These programs support climate-friendly, space-efficient, and sustainable housing construction—criteria that ZIEGELMODULE meets ZIEGELMODULE . Learn more about funding programs here.
